Interview with Christ for Humanity from Tulsa, OK
Ranger Roofing of Oklahoma, your loyal roofer from Tulsa, OK are proud to present you one more interview, this time with Christ for Humanity, a local community helping the poor and enriching their lives. Here is what they were proud to share with us:
To begin with, we would like you to briefly tell us about your organization
Christ for Humanity is a humanitarian aid ministry that helps Tulsa area poor with food, clothing, medical supplies and equipment, household goods and more. Nothing is sold, but given as a tangible display of Gods love for mankind.
- What do you do exactly?
And what was the reason that encouraged you to start this organization?
We work with Tulsa area clinics and hospitals and other medical facilities to collect overstock of medical supplies and equipment. We ship these items where needed internationally, or to the poor here in Tulsa along with food, clothing, furniture, and household goods as needed.
- What motivates you?
Describe your mission passion
We are motivated by seeing people that have come to our office leave with a genuine smile, a renewed sense of God’s love, and a restored dignity as we remind them of how important they are to Him. There are reports from the mission fields internationally that underscore the reason we do the things that we do. To realize that people are actually impacted by folks right here in Tulsa is fuel to keep going.
- Tell us about your goals
We hope to continue to walk in God’s will as he opens doors to expand our opportunities to reach those that need to be loved on, wherever they may be.
- What was the hardest/toughest moment you had to deal with?
Obstacles you faced when dealing with bureaucracy, permits, funding, etc. Something you would like to point out to anyone who might be starting their own organization.
Our hardest moment has been the recent passing of our founder, Mark Rollins. He was a constant source of encouragement and strength to everyone he met. Thankfully, he left a legacy that lives on as we continue in his dream of reaching and serving people.
- What was the most fulfilling moment that happened to you?
I had an opportunity to pray with a lady in my office. She stopped by for some groceries as her income didn’t cover her basic needs. As we visited and prayed together, we ended the prayer. I opened my eyes to see that she had tears pouring from her eyes which turned into uncontrollable sobbing. I asked if she was OK, and she said that no one had ever actually “listened” to her concerns and prayed for them specifically by name. I realized that this was our greatest calling, to simply listen and be available to pray with sincerity. People need it.
- What separates you from the rest? Why you?
We don’t seek measures of success that is typical of some that are growing their organizations based on numbers in one form or another. According to the people that have used our services, we are different because of the sense of God’s presence and the love that is demonstrated to each one.
- Do you have any upcoming events in the forthcoming months?
“The Christmas Messenger” is a living reenactment of the great Christmas story. The audience is literally walked through our facility room by room to see each scene played out by dozens of volunteer cast members and crafted scenery. Come and experience live caroling and hot chocolate before taking the live dramatic tour. Cost is FREE! Donations are accepted. Dates are December 20 through December 23 from 6 to 9 pm.

- What is it that you love most about what you do?
We love to meet people. Here, there is always someone new to get to know.
- What is the biggest challenge you’re faced with today?
Of course like all other ministries, we always need financial help. We are solely supported by people who believe in what we are doing. We do not receive Federal of State funds.
- Anything else you would like to add?
Come by to say hello, and take a tour. Our facility has a lot of history as a recording studio and film stage used by many well known artists and actors. We have tried to leave everything in it’s original state as it was when the building was donated to us in 1995.
